Julie Kummer

Julie moved to London from Switzerland to finalise her dissertation on ‘Exploring Usability of Online Communities' as part of her Multimedia Arts degree.

Before discovering that she enjoys talking to computers, Julie trained in Business Administration and started her career in a bank. She then moved on to being employee # 3 in a start-up fashion mail-order company before joining another Swiss start-up, Orange Communications, where she spent 6 years in various roles involving project management and business analytics.

As Digital Solutions Director, Julie now looks after Intrepid’s digital research portfolio, managing projects such as online Consumer Advisory Councils, Virtual Ethnography projects or online diaries and ensures the streamlined operation of IT in the business.

Besides her computer talents, Julie can also speak 5 languages, has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Julie can be seen running in London parks with headphones on, fuelling her passion for obscure Japanese jazz while training for the next New York Marathon.
